After completing a tour in the US Navy ('84 - '88) Stu Magid attended Loyola University Chicago and graduated with a Finance degree in 1992. Stu began his career in the residential mortgage industry in 1995 as a Loan Originator. In 1998 he started his own brokerage, grew that company to include 35 employees and was licensed in 19 states.
After a split with his partner in 2005, and the subsequent dissolution of their company, Stu accepted a position as an Account Executive with a national mortgage lender. While Stu was personally successful, the company he worked for succumbed to the "mortgage implosion" of 2007 and closed. Stu has since returned to his roots and is again working as a Loan Originator for First Centennial Mortgage in Glen Ellyn, Illinois.
"Over the last 15 years I've seen many changes in the mortgage industry. From computerized underwriting, email, electronic signatures and the expansion and contraction of available mortgage products the one constant is the personal interaction with borrowers. People want to work with someone who will listen to what they want and that has the industry and product knowledge to help them achieve their goals. It really boils down to professionalism and integrity."
In keeping with his personal conviction of putting his client's interest above his own, Stu provides all information up front, including the wholesale rate sheets as well as explanations and examples of how to read them.
Stu has personally closed over 2,000 mortgage transactions and has managed or overseen the closing of over 8,000 others. When professionalism and experience count, Stu Magid is the person you want handling your purchase or refinance transaction. Primarily concentrating on the Chicago area, Stu also handles the entire State of Illinois.
